(Video) El extraordinario e inquietante nacimiento de un perezoso en un árbol en San Carlos
La página Treetops Tour logró captar el nacimiento de un oso perezoso en un árbol en La Fortuna de San Carlos, Alajuela.
Según informó el medio Allan Jara, el nacimiento se dio en uno de los senderos del proyecto Bogarin Trail.
Una osa perezosa colgada de un árbol dio a luz, en el momento que salió la cría esta quedó colgando del cordón umbilical de la madre. Luego la mamá osa empezó a lamerla para limpiarla.
En Costa Rica hay dos especies de osos perezosos: la de dos y la de tres dedos.
Según se observa en el clip, en este caso se trata de una hembra de tres dedos.
El período de gestación de un oso perezoso de tres dedos dura seis meses, durante el cual la madre da a luz a una sola cría.
Tras el nacimiento, la cría permanece bajo el cuidado de la madre durante un período de 8 a 12 meses, después del cual se vuelve completamente independiente.
