Jeaustin Campos abre su corazón: “Nunca fui querido en el Saprissa”
Campos habló sobre su salida del Saprissa tras la denuncia del delantero Javon East, quien lo acusó de propinarle insultos racistas.
En una entrevista exclusiva con Impact Channel, el exentrenador del Deportivo Saprissa, Jeaustin Campos, rompió el silencio sobre su despido del equipo morado tras una serie de acusaciones por parte del delantero Javon East, quien lo señaló de propinarle insultos racistas.
Campos, reveló que su relación con el club nunca fue del todo armoniosa desde su llegada. En particular, señaló tensiones con la administración actual que, aparentemente, no veía con buenos ojos su presencia.
“En este Saprissa, todo lo que olía a Jorge Vergara y a la administración anterior no era bien visto, y eso me consta”, expresó Campos. “Lo he escuchado de parte de la gente que está ahora. Personajes como don Jorge Alarcón y mi gran amigo Hernán Medford, junto a este servidor, no éramos vistos de buena manera”, dijo.
“Ellos como que querían revolucionar e irse por otro lado, no y en realidad nunca fuimos así como una buena opción”, agregó.
Campos también compartió detalles sobre su incorporación al equipo, mencionando que inicialmente dudó de la bienvenida que recibiría. “Cuando Ángel Catalina, que era el gerente en ese momento, me llamó, le expresé mis reservas. Le dije: ‘¿Está seguro? ¿Ya habló con la junta directiva? Porque no creo que me quieran’”.
“Y me decía “No, no ya yo hablé” y después me dijo “Mira, pero sí estoy teniendo problemas estoy tratando de convencerlos”, añadió el estratega.
El exentrenador destacó su preocupación por las posibles reticencias de la junta directiva y su disposición a evitar problemas para Catalina. “Le dije, ‘Tranquilo, estoy aquí en Jicaral. Si me dice que agarre el carro, me voy y hablamos. Si no, tranquilo, me quedo aquí. No quiero que tengas problemas por mi culpa’”.
Campos subrayó su profesionalismo y dedicación, afirmando que siempre ha tratado de dar lo mejor de sí.
Al ser consultado sobre si da por cerrada o concluida su etapa en el Deportivo Saprissa comentó: “En el fútbol no hay verdades absolutas, sigo teniendo mucho afecto al río aunque las aguas que pasen en ese momento no me gusten. ¿Quién soy yo para decidirlo? Sí, va a ser muy difícil. No quisieron dar el protocolo (en el caso de East) ya eso habla mucho de que no me querían ahí. Más que yo decidir si vuelvo o no vuelvo yo creo que está muy claro de que no quieren que yo esté ahí también”.
