“Papá Chávez”: Así llamaba a Rodrigo Chaves el líder de la banda que trasegaba cocaína líquida desde Costa Rica a Europa
Gabriel Lozano, menciona al mandatario de manera jocosa mientras acordaba exportar cocaína a Europa.
En una operación conjunta entre el Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ) y el Ministerio Público, se logró desarticular una presunta organización criminal dedicada a la exportación de cocaína líquida a Europa y Asia.
La investigación revela una llamada interceptada en la que el presunto líder, Gabriel Lozano, de nacionalidad colombiana, menciona al presidente de Costa Rica, Rodrigo Chaves, de manera jocosa como “Papá Chavez” en una conversación que mantiene con el empresario alajuelense apellidado Herrera Soto, quien es el dueño de “Refrescos Minerva”.
La comunicación, fechada el 16 de marzo de 2023, se refiere a un envío de droga a Europa, coincidiendo con la programada gira del presidente por Francia y Holanda.
La información la dio a conocer CRHoy.com quien tuvo acceso al expediente 22-000088-0622-PE del Caso Corona.
“Daniel (Herrera) le informó a Gabriel (Lozano) que para ese día ya habían enviado un contenedor el cual iría hasta Europa esto por las manifestaciones que hizo Gabriel en son de broma sobre que el “papá Chávez va pa’llá pa’ esos lados” o sea refiriéndose al presidente de la República (Rodrigo Chaves) quién a partir del 17 de marzo del 2023, tenía programada una gira en Europa específicamente a Francia y Holanda”, describe el documento.
La policía internacional incautó cargamentos de cocaína el 13 de julio y el 22 de agosto pasados en Alemania y Países Bajos, posiblemente vinculados a la organización bajo investigación.
Casa Presidencial rechazó las acusaciones, calificándolas como “patrañas absurdas” destinadas a dañar la imagen del país. Destacaron la lucha enfática del presidente contra el narcotráfico y el crimen organizado, señalando que estas afirmaciones son intentos de vincular al Gobierno de Costa Rica con actividades ilegales.
Se revela que la organización utilizaba la empresa de bebidas gaseosas “Refrescos Minerva” como fachada para enviar cocaína líquida a Europa y Asia.
Se estima que realizaron inversiones por ₡12 mil millones, con al menos ₡6 mil millones provenientes del narcotráfico, según Randall Zúñiga, director del OIJ.
Como parte de la operación, se ordenó el decomiso de 26 vehículos de lujo y 39 propiedades, incluyendo centros comerciales, negocios y viviendas. La investigación se inició a raíz de un decomiso de cocaína líquida en Israel, lo que llevó al OIJ a rastrear la información hasta Costa Rica, desencadenando la operación de desmantelamiento de la organización criminal el pasado 14 de noviembre.
