“La libertad de expresión en Costa Rica goza de excelente salud”: Rodrigo Chaves
El mandatario afirmó que en su administración, se promueve activamente la expresión libre de los ciudadanos a través de diversos medios, incluyendo redes sociales, conferencias, chats de WhatsApp y otros canales digitales.
En conferencia de prensa este miércoles, el presidente de la República, Rodrigo Chaves, afirmó que en Costa Rica existe una libertad de prensa destacada y que en su administración, se promueve activamente la expresión libre de los ciudadanos a través de diversos medios, incluyendo redes sociales, conferencias, chats de WhatsApp y otros canales digitales.
“La libertad de expresión en Costa Rica goza de excelente salud. Dígame quién está en la cárcel por decir lo que piensa… cuál periódico ha sido intervenido por la policía… aquí hay gente que dice que me digan mentiroso es una falta de respeto … Yo daría mi vida por que ellos puedan decir esas mentiras”, manifestó Chaves.
“Yo sé que a mí golpean 3 o 4 medios, van a hacer mala fama de Costa Rica al extranjero, ellos tienen intereses bien conocidos del pueblo… según ellos yo inventé el concepto prensa canalla…. No yo no acuñé ese término… yo tengo la obligación y la libertad de cuando hay mentiras y humo”, agregó.
El presidente Rodrigo Chaves resultó ganador del Premio Latinoamericano Dr. Zenobio Saldivia 2023, en la categoría Libertad de Expresión por su apertura a los medios digitales. La información fue confirmada por la agencia de noticias Prensamérica Internacional.
