Un costarricense, entre los 50 finalistas al mejor profesor del mundo
Manuel Chaves está nominado al Global Teacher Prize.
Un profesor de orientación costarricense es es uno de los 50 finalistas del Global Teacher Prize, el premio más importante del mundo en docencia, otorgado por Fundación Varkey en colaboración con la Unesco, y en alianza estratégica con Dubai Cares, el cual reconoce a los mejores docentes del mundo por su innovación, compromiso social y estrategias pedagógicas.
Se trata de Manuel Chaves, docente de la Escuela Laboratorio UCR ubicada en Vargas Araya de Montes de Oca, quien fue seleccionado entre más de 7.000 postulaciones de 130 países de todo el mundo, y, de ganar, se haría merecedor de un millón de dólares en la entrega del galardón, el próximo 8 de noviembre, en París, Francia.
Según informó Telenoticias, Chaves es autor de dos libros: ‘Test Finger’s Counseling’ se centra en una evaluación vocacional diseñada específicamente para niños y niñas de edades comprendidas entre los 11 y 14 años.
Por otro lado, ‘Un Futuro Desafiante’ aborda la preparación y los desafíos que la infancia enfrenta en un mundo laboral en constante evolución.
Además, el docente es conocido por haber creado un proyecto sobre Educación Ambiental. Por 10 años trabajó en la creación de un blog acerca del desarrollo vocacional en la infancia para que los menores tengan un mayor conocimiento personal.
