Expertos advierten que a partir de este jueves podría haber oleaje alto en distintos puntos del país
Las condiciones de oleajes altos se darán principalmente en el Pacífico.
Por medio de un reporte, este miércoles 25 de octubre el Módulo de información Oceanográfica (MIO) del Centro de Investigación en Ciencias del Mar y Limnología (Cimar) de la Universidad de Costa Rica (UCR), informó acerca de la posibles condiciones de oleaje alto que se pueden presentar en el país en los próximos días.
De acuerdo con la institución, los pronósticos apuntan a que se forme un sistema de baja presión frente a Centroamérica, afectado principalmente al sector del Pacífico, la península de Nicoya y en la Isla del Coco.
Asimismo, Omar Lizano, director general del MIO del Cimar, indicó algunos puntos a tomar en cuenta para los próximos días debido a estas condiciones que se prevén.
- Para el Pacífico de Costa Rica: de ser probable que se forme este sistema, habría peligro para la navegación de embarcaciones pequeñas (7 metros) y medianas (7-20 metros).
- Aunque este tipo de oleaje más bien tiende a disminuir cuando se traslada a las playas, habrá que estar atentos en las mareas altas en los lugares que hemos estado observando que el mar se mete.
- En el Caribe, las condiciones de oleaje más alto del sábado generan condiciones peligrosas para la navegación de embarcaciones pequeñas y para los bañistas.
- Este pronóstico es para aguas profundas, por lo que las condiciones de oleaje en la costa pueden diferir a lo pronosticado, siendo, en algunos casos, menor o mayor que el valor en agua profunda.
Cabe destacar que las autoridades indican que “todo pronóstico, este puede sufrir cambios, por lo que hay que mantenerse atentos a nueva información y/o dar seguimiento a los pronósticos”.
