Perú endurece ley para castigar con cadena perpetua a ladrones de celulares
La pena en Perú será la cadena perpetua si el ladrón pertenece a una organización criminal, si causa la muerte de la víctima o si le provoca daños graves a su integridad física o mental.
Perú castigará hasta con cadena perpetua el robo de un teléfono móvil que involucre lesiones o la muerte de la víctima, según una reforma al código penal aprobada por el gobierno.
«La pena será de cadena perpetua cuando el agente actúe en calidad de integrante de una organización criminal, o si, como consecuencia del hecho, se produce la muerte de la víctima o se le causa lesiones graves a su integridad física o mental», indicó la nueva norma publicada este viernes en la gaceta oficial.
Según las autoridades locales, en el primer semestre del año se reportaron al menos 860.363 celulares robados en Perú. Se estima que unos 4.500 aparatos son robados a diario.
En Perú se aplica cadena perpetua en 11 tipos de delitos, entre los cuales el feminicidio, sicariato y la explotación sexual de menores seguida de asesinato.
