Fue al doctor por un diente roto y estuvo siete meses en tratamientos por grave infección
Quedó con millonaria deuda
Brandon Baker, un hombre oriundo de Ohio, en Estados Unidos, fue al médico porque tenía un diente roto, sin embargo, eso solo fue el inicio de siete meses de tratamientos médicos por una grave infección.
Los hechos ocurrieron hace varios años, cuando Brandon apenas era un veinteañero. El día en que comenzó lo que sería una pesadilla, el hombre fue a trabajar y se sintió «más enfermo que nunca en mi vida», reveló en un video de TikTok.
El hombre fue diagnosticado con bronquitis, neumonía y meningitis. Tiempo después perdió el conocimiento en la ducha y tuvo que ingresar a la UCI con líquido en los pulmones.
Posteriormente, llegó hasta un hospital en el cual los médicos descubrieron que padecía una «infección sanguínea grave, en todo el cuerpo, casi séptica».
Los inconvenientes médicos lo llevaron a pasar 28 días hospitalizado y someterse a una operación cardiaca. «Me sometieron a una cirugía a corazón abierto para reemplazar una de las valvas de mi microválvula que fue destruida por la infección», indicó.
La millonaria deuda que acumuló el joven
Las constantes visitas al médico y tratamientos provocaron que acumulara una deuda médica de 830.000 dólares.
Años después de los hechos, Brandon atribuye sus problemas de salud a no haber tratado su problema dental a tiempo.
En el momento que se le quebró un diente, no contaba con un seguro dental adecuado, por lo que solo se preocupaba de que su boca estuviera siempre limpia.
Tras acudir al odontólogo, reparar su diente y realizarse una limpieza, empezaron sus problemas de salud, los que, según acusa, se produjeron porque no le recetaron los antibióticos que le correspondían, lo que ocasionó que terminara viviendo un «calvario que duró unos siete meses».
