Presidente Joe Biden: ‘Nunca pensé que vería imágenes de terroristas decapitando a niños’
Biden señaló que el ataque de Hamás contra Israel fue ‘pura crueldad’ y confirmó la veracidad de imágenes de niños fallecidos.
El ataque del grupo islamista-terrorista Hamás contra Israel fue “pura crueldad”, aseguró el presidente de Estados Unidos, Joe Biden, ante líderes de la comunidad judía. También dijo que nunca pensó que vería imágenes de terroristas “decapitando a niños”.
Biden confirmó la veracidad de las imágenes, pese a que Hamás negó haber “matado a niños, decapitado y atacado a civiles” durante su ataque a Israel, y alegó que son “acusaciones inventadas” de soldados israelís sobre masacres perpetradas en Kibutzs.
EE. UU. envió al Mediterráneo Oriental el portaaviones Gerald R. Ford y un grupo de destructores de la Armada estadounidense, y en los próximos días mandará un segundo portaaviones dentro de sus esfuerzos para evitar una escalada del conflicto.
“Las guerras tienen reglas y creo que Israel está haciendo todo lo que está en su poder para mantener el país unido”, dijo Biden, que agregó que EE.UU. también hará todo lo que esté en su mano para llevar de regreso a los estadounidenses “que están en peligro”.
El ataque sorpresa de Hamás, que dio comienzo el sábado a una guerra que continúa registrando fuertes intercambios de fuego, ha dejado ya un saldo de al menos 1.200 muertos en Israel y más de 2.900 heridos. Del lado gazatí, el Ministerio de Sanidad palestino registra 950 muertos y al menos 5.000 heridos.
