Pareja en Israel adelantó su boda antes de que el novio partiera a la guerra
La pareja, que estaba a una semana de contraer nupcias, tuvo que cancelar la celebración por los bombardeos a Israel. Como el novio es reservista del Ejército, decidieron convertirse en esposos en una rápida ceremonia realizada en medio de la tragedia.
Aaron y Tamar Greene estaban emocionados con los preparativos de su boda en Israel, sin embargo, nunca imaginaron que lo que sería el día más feliz de su vida como pareja estaría empañado por el inicio de una brutal guerra. Esta es la historia de cómo antes de partir al conflicto armado unieron sus vidas para siempre.
En entrevista con Good Morning America, la pareja confesó que, al momento que empezó la disputa entre Hamás e Israel, ellos estaban separados, pues la tradición en el país es que las parejas próximas a casarse no pueden verse una semana antes de la boda.
El mensaje, que parecía ser premonitorio, no anticipó el caos que se desataría en la mañana del sábado 7 de octubre de 2023 tras el ataque con cohetes enviado por Hamás.
«En un momento estamos esperando una boda y al siguiente estamos en una guerra», comentó Aaron, quien se mudó de Estados Unidos a Jerusalén en 2017 en compañía de sus padres y hermanos.
«Recuerdo mirar por mi balcón y ver a todas estas personas que estaban en servicio de reserva vestirse rápidamente en el auto, ponerse sus uniformes, y simplemente acelerar e ir a su servicio de reserva», relató Tamar a GMA.
El novio admitió que tenía una dicotomía porque estaba con la mujer que amaba, pero también sentía que los reservistas estaban arriesgando su vida por proteger a su familia, por lo cual fue preparándose para el momento que tuviera que volver a las filas.
Al ver el desolador panorama, la pareja tomó la decisión de adelantar las nupcias y volverse esposos el lunes 9 de octubre, en una ceremonia pequeña celebrada en la azotea del edificio donde vivía su familia.
La boda, aunque corta por los cohetes que eran lanzados, selló su unión de amor por siempre.
«Nos sentimos increíblemente privilegiados de haber podido casarnos», destacaron los nuevos esposos, quienes ahora esperan el llamado de Aaron a unirse a las tropas israelíes.
