Bebé de seis meses casi fue comido vivo por ratones: Tenía más de 50 mordeduras
La policía detuvo a tres personas por el caso de maltrato, que además de la guagua, afectó a cuatro niños de la familia que tienen de dos, tres, cinco y seis años.
La policía estadounidense detuvo a tres adultos por un brutal caso de maltrato infantil, en donde un bebé de seis meses casi fue comido vivo por los ratones.
El incidente ocurrió el pasado 13 de septiembre en Evansville, Indiana, en donde las autoridades recibieron un llamado de un padre, señalando que había hallado a su guagua de medio año cubierta de sangre.
De acuerdo con 14 News, “tenía mordeduras en el brazo derecho, desde el codo hasta la mano, y que le faltaban partes de todos los dedos, con los huesos al descubierto”. Además, su temperatura estaba en los 34,5 °C. Debido a la gravedad de sus lesiones, fue trasladado hasta otro centro asistencial, donde le realizaron una transfusión de sangre para salvarle la vida.
Debido a la negligencia, la policía detuvo a sus padres, David y Angel Schonabaum, y a la hermana de su papá, Delaina Thurman.
Tras ser detenido, David Schonabaum relató que tenían “problemas” con los ratones desde marzo y que una empresa de exterminadores estaba tratando la casa. A pesar de lo anterior, hay evidencia adicional que señala que el 1 de septiembre dos de los cinco niños reportaron a su profesora que los roedores les habían mordido los dedos de los pies mientras dormían.
En ese entonces, cuando personal del Departamento de Servicios Infantiles de Indiana se presentó en el inmueble para investigar la denuncia de la escuela, pero Thurman desestimó los hechos, señalando que los niños se habían “raspado” con el marco de sus camas.
Se espera que los tres adultos involucrados en el caso de maltrato infantil del bebé y los otros cuatro niños sean procesados por negligencia.
