10 niñas costarricenses se preparan para vivir una experiencia de lujo en la NASA
La costarricense son parte de la segunda tripulación del programa “Ella Es Astronauta”, de la Fundación She Is.
Tras más de 800 inscripciones, el programa “Ella Es Astronauta”, de la Fundación She Is, ya seleccionó a las 10 niñas y adolescentes ticas, amantes de la ciencia y tecnología que formarán parte de la segunda misión rumbo al Space Center Houston de la NASA.
Como ya es conocido las elegidas con menores de entre 9 y 15 años, quienes habitan en condiciones de vulnerabilidad.
Las seleccionadas quienes viajarán en diciembre, vivirán una experiencia de lujo donde tendrán la oportunidad de desarrollar habilidades en áreas STEAM (ciencias, tecnología, ingeniería, matemáticas, artes) junto a expertos de la NASA, además, de visitar uno de los centros de investigación espacial más grandes del mundo.
Priscilla Solano, directora del programa en Costa Rica, explicó que las niñas que forman parte de este grupo participan en diversas clases y talleres sobre carreras STEAM, robótica, prevención de embarazo adolescente, liderazgo, educación financiera, propósito de vida, inteligencia emocional, ciberbullying, emprendimiento, entre otras cosas.
Asimismo, en la visita de las ticas al Space Center Houston, también tendrán la oportunidad de interactuar en charlas y webinars con destacados líderes de alto impacto, incluyendo figuras como Sandra Cauffman, quien es subdirectora de la división de Astrofísica de la NASA; así como con Adriana Ocampo, directora de Sistemas de la Tierra para el mantenimiento de satélites en la NASA y otras mujeres líderes como , Zaida Hernández, Ingeniera de Naves Espaciales en el Centro Espacial Johnson de la NASA en Houston, TX, y Tatiana Calderón, primera mujer de América Latina en conducir un auto de Fórmula 1.
Además, la tripulantes tras finalizar el programa tendrán una graduación en las instalaciones de la NASA.
En cuanto a este programa, cabe destacar que la Fundación colombiana “She Is” la desarrolla desde el 2019, con el objetivo de romper estereotipos de género y convertir a las menores en agentes de cambio en sus comunidades, así como generar herramientas académicas, además, de brindarles la posibilidad de vivir una experiencia única e inolvidable.
