Terremoto en Marruecos: hotel de Cristiano Ronaldo brinda refugio a víctimas en Marrakech
Un terremoto de magnitud 6.8 golpeó a Marruecos, con epicentro en Marrakech, el principal destino turístico del país, y ha dejado al menos 1.037 personas muertas y 1.204 heridos
Al menos 1.037 personas han fallecido por un terremoto de magnitud 6.8 que golpeó Marruecos, según un balance oficial del último sábado. El Servicio Geológico de Estados Unidos (USGS) informó que el movimiento telúrico se produjo a una profundidad de 18,5 kilómetros, con epicentro 71 kilómetros al suroeste de Marrakech a las 23.11 de la hora local.
El Centro Nacional de Investigaciones Científicas y Técnicas marroquí (CNRST) indicó una magnitud de 7. Asimismo, hasta el momento, se han reportado 1.204 heridos, “de los cuales 721 están en estado crítico”, indicó el Ministerio del Interior en un comunicado

«Ahora mismo estamos destempladísimos. Empezamos a buscar vuelos, que se agotaron en un momento. Tuvimos que coger vuelos incluso de 1.000 euros para intentar marchar antes porque nos íbamos el próximo miércoles», narró.
«Los hoteles lo mismo. Tuvimos que venirnos a la zona nueva de Marrakech, donde hay más hoteles de lujo, por decirlo de alguna manera. Ahora hemos conseguido que el hotel de Cristiano Ronaldo, que está a las afueras, nos dé una habitación», reveló.

Pestana CR7 Marrakech es un hotel de cuatro estrellas de lujo situado a las afueras de la ciudad con piscina exterior, gimnasio, jardines y terrazas, además de restaurante y bar. Estaba decorado acorde al país antes de que lo devastara el terremoto, con un estilo muy moderno y buen ambiente.
Marrakech es el principal destino turístico de Marruecos y al menos 2,3 millones de visitantes recorrieron en 2022 las estrechas calles de su histórica medina, declarada Patrimonio de la Humanidad por la UNESCO en 1985, y unos edificios de adobe que han sido especialmente dañados por el terremoto.
