Suprema Corte de Justicia de México anuncia la despenalización del aborto a nivel federal
Las mujeres podrán acceder a servicios de aborto en hospitales públicos y el personal médico no podrá ser criminalizado.
Este miércoles 6 de setiembre, la Primera Sala de la Suprema Corte de Justicia de México anunció la despenalización del aborto en todo el país. Con esta sentencia, las mujeres podrán acceder a servicios de aborto en hospitales públicos y el personal médico no podrá ser criminalizado. La medida fue tomada luego de presentarse un amparo promovido por la ONG Grupo de Información en Reproducción Elegida (GIRE).
«La Suprema Corte de Justicia de la Nación despenaliza el aborto a nivel federal. Gracias a un amparo ganado por Grupo de Información en Reproducción Elegida (GIRE), todas las mujeres y personas con capacidad de gestar podrán acceder a servicios de aborto en cualquier institución federal de salud», informó la organización en la red social X.

Hasta este miércoles, el aborto estaba despenalizado en 12 de los 32 estados del país mexicano, de acuerdo a la agencia de noticias Sputnik. Además, la primera ley de despenalización del aborto en México fue aprobada en 2007.
