Agentes del FBI mataron a hombre que amenazó con atentar contra el presidente Joe Biden
El hombre hizo la amenaza a Joe Biden y a otros funcionarios a través de mensajes en internet, por lo que se abrió una investigación en su contra. Tras registrar el domicilio del sospechoso, agentes del FBI abrieron fuego, dejando como saldo la muerte del civil.
En la tarde de este miércoles, 9 de agosto de 2023, se conoció la noticia de la muerte de un hombre que cayó a manos de agentes del FBI durante una redada en el estado de Utah, Estados Unidos, luego de que emitiera mensajes que prometían atentar en contra del presidente Joe Biden, según informó la cadena de televisión ABC.
De acuerdo con las autoridades, los hechos se presentaron alrededor de las 6:15 a. m. en una vivienda ubicada en la ciudad de Provo, al sur de Salt Lake City. A esa hora, agentes de la Oficina Federal de Investigación (FBI) ingresaron a la propiedad registrada a nombre de Craig Deleeuw Robertson para ejecutar una orden judicial, que tenía como objetivo detener y registrar al sospechoso.
Al parecer, el hombre había manifestado su interés en diferentes oportunidades en acabar con la vida de Joe Biden y otros funcionarios del Gobierno, amenazas que resultaron “creíbles” para la agencia. Sin embargo, lo que desencadenó el trágico final fue la gira del presidente de los Estados Unidos por el oeste del país.
Según el cronograma, Joe Biden tenía planeado aterrizar en Utah este miércoles, 9 de agosto de 2023, y Robertson hizo una publicación el lunes que decía que estaba planeando sacar su traje camuflado y “limpiar el polvo del rifle de francotirador M24”, haciendo referencia a un “asesinato presidencial”.
Por otro lado, se conoció que el hombre incluyó en sus amenazas a personajes como Alvin Bragg, fiscal del distrito de Manhattan; Merrick Garland, secretario de Justicia; y Letitia James, procuradora general de Nueva York.
“Es el momento adecuado para un asesinato presidencial o dos. Primero Joe, luego Kamala”, había escrito Robertson en Facebook en septiembre de 2022, haciendo referencia a sus planes.
