¡Llegó su momento! Ronald Mauricio Montero anunció su retiro del fútbol
Montero se retira tras 16 años de carrera en el fútbol nacional.
Tras 16 años de carrera, este lunes el volante Ronald Mauricio Montero, dio un anuncio que puso triste a más de uno, ya que anunció oficialmente su retiro del futbol nacional.
Dicha noticia la dio a conocer públicamente por medio de sus redes sociales, donde explicó su decisión de retirarse.
“Ha llegado el momento de decir adiós, en la vida hay ciclos y el mío hasta aquí llegó, muy agradecido con todas las personas que siempre me brindaron su apoyo, una travesía que empezó en el 2007 con el Club Sport Cartaginés, donde pude debutar a nivel profesional, después de ahí fue un largo camino donde pase momentos maravillosos y otros no tanto, pero es parte de la vida.
“Hoy dejo el fútbol, que me acompañó por 16 años, sin antes resaltar a mi padre que desde muy joven me inculcó el deporte más hermoso del mundo, a mi madre que siempre estuvo conmigo, mis hermanos, mi novia que siempre estuvo a mi lado y toda mi familia”, escribió en el comunicado el futbolista.
Montero, además, de Cartago también formó parte de Orión, Aserrí FC de la Liga de Ascenso, Municipal Perez Zeledón, Liga Deportiva Alajuelense, Universidad de Costa Rica, Guadalupe FC y Puntarenas FC, equipos a los cuales agradeció por abrirle las puertas en su momento.
Asimismo, el volante también resaltó un sueño que vivió con el Club Sport Cartaginés, lo que sin duda lo marcó por todo lo que conllevó y representó para él, los jugadores, la institución y la afición.
“Gracias Cartaginés por cumplir mi sueño de quedar campeón, una fecha que nunca se me olvidará, gracias por todo, a esa afición fiel y hermosa que siempre estuvo ahí”, concluyó.

Montero, en su última temporada como jugador profesional estuvo jugando con Puntarenas FC, equipo en el que supo ganarse el cariño de la afición porteña.
