Los avances en la investigación realizada por Senasa arrojaron información sorprendente sobre la conducta del animal y las circunstancias que rodearon el incidente.
Más de un mes y medio ha transcurrido desde que ocurrió el lamentable suceso en el que un niño de dos años perdió la vida tras ser atacado por “Tayler”, un perro de raza Pastor Alemán.
El lamentable hecho ocurrió en Pérez Zeledón.
La doctora Iliana Céspedes, coordinadora del Programa Nacional de Pequeñas Especies de Senasa, reveló a Teletica.com detalles intrigantes acerca del perro involucrado.
Durante la investigación, se descubrieron aspectos llamativos, especialmente relacionados con su propietario anterior. Durante cuatro años, el perro vivió con esta persona, quien lo cambió por otro perro de guardia.
Se reveló que, durante esos cuatro años, nadie podía pasar por el portón de la vivienda si el perro estaba presente. Además, el can nunca tuvo interacción con los niños de la familia, ya que su casa estaba rodeada de una malla para evitar el contacto con los perros de guardia y protección que allí vivían.
Uno de los aspectos más preocupantes es que el antiguo dueño admitió haber dado al perro a su hijastra con la intención de que le sacara una cría y luego se deshiciera de él.
Estos detalles son considerados señales de advertencia por parte de los expertos, indicando que el perro podría reaccionar de manera agresiva si alguien se acercara demasiado a su espacio personal.
La doctora Céspedes hizo hincapié en la falta de empatía que algunas personas tienen hacia los animales y que frecuentemente utilizan términos como “deshacerse” al referirse a los perros que ya no desean tener.
Esta actitud y las condiciones en las que el perro fue criado son consideradas factores determinantes en este trágico incidente.
Si bien el perro no es inherentemente violento, su recuperación será un proceso largo y complejo, comparable al de un ser humano con depresión. Los expertos subrayan la importancia de brindarle un espacio amplio donde pueda moverse libremente y evitar futuras agresiones.
A pesar de que varias personas han mostrado interés en adoptar al perro, Senasa ha decidido no darlo en adopción en la actualidad. Argumentan que su edad y las dificultades de adaptación que podría enfrentar no hacen apropiado un cambio drástico en su entorno. Sin embargo, el perro está bajo el cuidado de una persona que ha establecido un vínculo positivo con él.
Aunque la eutanasia no ha sido descartada por completo, la entidad defiende la idea de mantener al perro en su entorno actual siempre que responda al tratamiento y tenga un lugar adecuado para vivir.
