Randall Álvarez dimite como gerente médico de la CCSS
El médico regresará a su puesto como director general del hospital Monseñor Sanabria, en Puntarenas.
La Junta Directiva de la Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS) conoció este jueves, en su sesión ordinaria, la renuncia del gerente médico de la institución Randall Álvarez Juárez.
Según informó la presidenta ejecutiva de la institución Marta Eugenia Esquivel Rodríguez la renuncia será efectiva una vez el doctor Álvarez cumpla con el periodo de vacaciones que tenía acumulado.
El doctor Álvarez Juárez había asumido la gerencia el 30 de noviembre de 2021 y retornará, luego de sus vacaciones, a su puesto como director general del hospital Monseñor Víctor Manuel Sanabria Martínez, en Puntarenas.
“Nos toca volver a desarrollar el sueño de todos [el nuevo hospital] a demostrar que esa inversión va a ser bien utilizada y no únicamente por demostrar que va a ser bien utilizada, sino porque tenemos que cambiar la forma en dar los servicios”, comentó el doctor Álvarez quien destacó que buscará que el nuevo hospital puntarenense sea un hospital modelo para la seguridad social costarricense.
Asimismo, esta tarde la Junta Directiva juramentó en el puesto de manera temporal al médico Marino Ramírez Carranza, quién asumirá la gerencia a partir del próximo lunes.
El doctor Ramírez ha laborado por 27 años en la CCSS, es médico cirujano, cuenta con una maestría en Administración de Servicios de Salud y una especialidad en Administración de Servicios; así como estudios de posgrado en Alta Gerencia.
El nuevo gerente médico cuenta con amplia experiencia en el campo de la salud, habiendo realizado propuestas en diversos países de América Latina, España y Portugal, para la mejora de la práctica clínica, las mallas curriculares de los futuros médicos, la colegiatura obligatoria y propuestas para la reducción de la desigualdad, el acceso justo a los medicamentos y la importancia de los seguros sociales.
Además, como funcionario de la CCSS ha trabajado en temas de especial relevancia como el desarrollo de propuestas para reducir el impacto negativo de las listas de espera, mediante la priorización de acciones en especialidades más críticas. Asimismo, dentro de su paso por la institución, ha laborado en las áreas de salud Guácimo y Siquirres y el hospital Carlos Luis Valverde Vega (San Ramón), donde actualmente se desempeñaba como coordinador de la Unidad Técnica de Listas de Espera local.
