Mujeres trans no podrán participar en Miss Costa Rica
La organización pide que las aspirantes sean: “Reconocidas médica y legalmente como mujeres en Costa Rica”.
Contar con buena salud física y mental, estudiante o graduada universitaria, tener carisma, educación, modales, disciplina, responsabilidad y tener entre 18 y 28 años, son algunos de los requisitos que establece la organización de Miss Costa Rica para poder participar del tradicional concurso y representar al país en el reinado internacional de Miss Universo.
Sumado a una larga lista de requisitos, uno de ellos, especifica “Reconocida médica y legalmente como mujer en Costa Rica”, excluyendo a las mujeres transgénero.
Costarricense.
Residir en Costa Rica al menos en los últimos seis meses.
Contar con buena salud, física y mental.
Cualquier estado civil, con o sin hijos.
No pueden haber participado en los dos últimos concursos de Miss Costa Rica.
Estudiante o graduada universitaria.
Reconocida médica y legalmente como mujer en Costa Rica.
Contar con documentos al día cédula y pasaporte.
No puede ser actual ganadora de un título ni la primera finalista en ningún otro certamen o competencia internacional.
Tener carisma, educación, modales, disciplina y responsabilidad.
“No contar con material publicitario, videos, fotografías, redes sociales o en actividades o situaciones lascivas, comprometedoras o de otro modo inaceptables”.

En 2018, Angela Ponce, de nacionalidad española, hizo historia al ser la primera mujer transgénero en competir en el certamen de Miss Universo.
Actualmente, la franquicia está en manos de Anne Jakrajutatip, una mujer transgénero que es reconocida como una de las mujeres más adineradas del sudeste asiático.
