Golfista tica de 9 años conquista tercer lugar en prestigioso torneo en Estados Unidos
El Drive, Chip & Putt es el torneo infantil más mediático e importante de Estados Unidos.
La golfista costarricense de nueve años, Larissa Wheelless Ramírez, alcanzó una hazaña sin precedentes al obtener el tercer lugar en el emblemático campo de golf de Augusta National Golf Club en Georgia, Estados Unidos.
Para lograr este éxito, Larissa debió competir en diversos torneos clasificatorios, un camino lleno de desafíos que culminó en su participación en el Augusta National Golf Club, un sueño hecho realidad para cualquier golfista.
Para llegar a la final nacional en Estados Unidos, Larissa tuvo que superar tres torneos eliminatorios en Florida: uno local en Plantation, otro sub-regional en Naples y un último regional en Júpiter.
Fue en este último, disputado en el Bears Club Golf Course, propiedad de Jack Nicklaus, donde la golfista nacional logró consagrarse como la campeona de la zona sureste de Estados Unidos.
Con su excelente desempeño, la costarricense logró el primer lugar y aseguró su lugar en la final del torneo Drive, Chip & Putt. Este evento se lleva a cabo en el Augusta National Golf Club, un día antes de The Masters, donde Larissa alcanzó el tercer lugar.
“Estoy muy agradecida y emocionada por este resultado, quiero volver a clasificar en un futuro cercano para regresar de nuevo a esta majestuosa cancha de golf. Tener mi trofeo y ver que tiene los logos de The Masters, PGA(Professional Golf Association) y USGA (United States Golf Association) me hace sentir muy motivada”, manifestó Larissa.
