Policía decomisa casi dos toneladas de marihuana en lancha interceptada en el Pacífico Sur
Los detenidos son un jamaiquino, un colombiano y un nicaragüense.
La captura de una embarcación con casi dos toneladas de marihuana en aguas del Pacífico Sur fue posible gracias a la colaboración entre las autoridades nacionales y estadounidenses.
La acción policial tuvo lugar después de que las autoridades del Ministerio de Seguridad Pública (MSP) recibieran una alerta acerca de una embarcación sospechosa, la cual fue detectada por un patrullero aéreo marítimo de Estados Unidos.
Los tripulantes fueron identificados como un jamaiquino de apellido Lenford, de 31 años, quien era el capitán de la nave; un nicaragüense apellidado Forbes, de 36 años; y un colombiano de apellido Sinisterra, de 35 años.
Se trata de una embarcación de 40 pies de largo, de color gris, con bandera costarricense, de nombre Night Nurse, con una matrícula limonense L-4616, propulsada por dos motores de 200 caballos de fuerza cada uno.
Esta es la segunda embarcación capturada por autoridades del MSP durante la presente semana.
