¡Grandiosa noticia! Gerardo Zamora fue aceptado en ensayo clínico en Estados Unidos
El periodista será parte de un ensayo clínico en el Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, en Boston.
Esta semana la familia conformada por los queridos periodistas Ginnés Rodríguez, Gerardo Zamora y sus hijos, Luciana y Marcelo, recibieron una excelente noticia.
Luego de meses de espera, Gerardo fue aceptado por el Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, en Boston para ser parte de un ensayo clínico.
Desde entonces, por más operaciones y radioterapias que ha recibido, los meningiomas siguen apareciendo.
El caso de Gerardo es atípico, porque comúnmente estos tumores, llamados meningiomas tipo 3, cuando se operan no vuelven a molestar y son de crecimiento muy lento.
Ginnés, contó a diario La Teja, que su esposo fue aceptado en el Dana-Farber Cancer Institute lugar en el que los investigadores trabajan sobre ciertos tipos de cáncer y empiezan a hacer ensayos clínicos para probar medicamentos que han sido probados por la FDA (Administración de Alimentos y Medicamentos de Estados Unidos) y que se aplican para otro tipo de tumores.
“Sí, ya recibimos respuesta, Dios primero será en octubre, que sería la primera cita. Estamos conversando todavía con ellos porque ocupamos saber más detalles, si hay que irse antes, cuánto tiempo va a ser la estadía, en esa parte estamos, pero sí, la respuesta la tuvimos esta semana”, comentó Rodríguez al rotativo.
La idea es que el periodista participe en este ensayo clínico con el objetivo de probar otro tipo de quimioterapia para ver si hace efecto en sus tumores, por lo menos en el comportamiento tan acelerado que ha tenido en los últimos años.
“Esa noticia fue como un vaso de agua en el desierto. Es la noticia que estábamos esperando porque nos agarramos de esta oportunidad con toda nuestra fe y con toda nuestra ilusión para que este sea un punto de quiebre en el combate de esta enfermedad.
“Fue como cuando usted está levantando un peso de algo muy pesado y de pronto llega y se lo quitan, y uno dice: ‘¡Ay, ya!, ¡qué alivio!’, así exactamente lo sentimos”, agregó Ginnés.
La presentadora de Informe 11, Las Historias contó que Zamora recibió la noticia con mucha emoción.
“Gera recibió la noticia con un agradecimiento a Dios enorme, con mucha emoción y la ilusión de que esto sea la oportunidad que tanto le hemos pedido a Dios”, dijo Rodríguez.
