Papa Francisco calificó de ‘dictadura grosera’ el régimen de Daniel Ortega en Nicaragua
El pontífice, entre otros temas, se refirió a la condena de un obispo nicaragüense. El papa Francisco comparó lo que ocurre en el país centroamericano con una dictadura ‘hitleriana’.
El papa Francisco calificó como una «dictadura grosera» el régimen del presidente de Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, en su país, luego de la condena de un obispo nicaragüense a 26 años y 4 meses de prisión, según una entrevista publicada este viernes, 10 de marzo de 2023.
«Con mucho respeto, no me queda otra que pensar en un desequilibrio de la persona que dirige (Ortega). Ahí tenemos un obispo preso, un hombre muy serio, muy capaz. Quiso dar su testimonio y no aceptó el exilio», aseveró el papa Francisco al portal argentino Infobae desde su residencia de Santa Marta, en la Ciudad del Vaticano, con motivo del décimo aniversario de su papado.
El obispo nicaragüense Rolando Álvarez, muy crítico con el gobierno de Ortega, fue condenado el pasado 10 de febrero a 26 años y 4 meses de prisión tras ser declarado culpable por delitos considerados «traición a la patria», en medio de la crisis que vive el país centroamericano.
Monseñor Álvarez rechazó subirse al avión que lo llevaría, junto con otros 222 excarcelados políticos nicaragüenses, todos opositores, hacia Estados Unidos, lo que provocó la furia de Ortega, que lo tachó de «soberbio», «desquiciado» y «energúmeno».
«Es una cosa que está fuera de lo que estamos viviendo, es como si fuera traer la dictadura comunista de 1917 o la hitleriana del 35, traer aquí las mismas… Son un tipo de dictaduras groseras. O, para usar una distinción linda de Argentina, guarangas», afirmó la máxima autoridad de la Iglesia católica.
El pasado 21 de febrero, el mandatario nicaragüense calificó de «mafia» a la Iglesia y la acusó de ser antidemocrática por no permitir que los católicos elijan por voto directo al papa, a los cardenales, a los obispos y a los sacerdotes.
