Atrapan a caimán de más de un metro de largo en parque de Nueva York
Autoridades señalaron que, probablemente, era una mascota cuyo dueño decidió liberar en aguas públicas de un estanque. Al parecer, el caimán sufrió un ataque de frío, pues ‘es nativo de climas cálidos y tropicales’.
Trabajadores del parque de Prospect Park de Brooklyn (Nueva York) capturaron el pasado domingo, 19 de febrero de 2023, un caimán de más de un metro de largo que estaba nadando en un estanque del recinto, según informó la prensa local.
Meghan Lalor, representante del Departamento de Parques, dijo al New York Post que el reptil probablemente era una mascota cuyo dueño decidió liberar en aguas públicas.
«Afortunadamente, nadie resultó herido y el animal está siendo evaluado», añadió Lalor.
El caimán fue visto flotando en un estanque del parque a primera hora de la mañana del domingo y, tras ser capturado, fue llevado al Centro de Cuidado de Animales de Nueva York.
Lalor explicó que el animal posiblemente sufrió «un golpe de frío, ya que es nativo de climas cálidos y tropicales».
El representante agradeció a la Patrulla de Cumplimiento de Parques de la ciudad y a los Guardaparques Urbanos por «capturar y transportar» al caimán.
