Rodrigo Chaves envía condolencias a familia de escolta de vicepresidentes que falleció en accidente
Jimarki Badilla Coto, de 41 años de edad, era padre de un joven de 13 años.
El presidente de la República, Rodrigo Chaves Robles, envió sus condolencias a la familia del escolta de los vicepresidentes Stephan Brunner y Mary Munive quien falleció la noche de este sábado en un accidente de tránsito en Puerto Jiménez de Golfito, Puntarenas.
La víctima fue identificada como Jimarki Badilla Coto, de 41 años de edad, oficial de la Fuerza Pública destacado en el Ministerio de la Presidencia como chofer de los vicepresidentes.
“Tengo malas noticias, en esta gira presidencial al sur del país perdimos a un colega, a nuestro querido Jimarki Badilla en un accidente de tránsito. Jimarki era miembro de la unidad de protección presidencial y le estaba manejando en el momento de su muerte al vicepresidente Stephan Brunner. Todos los demás involucrados están bien, pero perdimos a Jimarki quien dio su vida en el cumplimiento de su deber. Aquí estoy con los miembros del equipo de Seguridad, los miembros de la UPP, de Bomberos, de Tránsito que son las unidades que se encargan de darle protección al presidente, a los vicepresidentes y en general a los funcionarios de gobierno”, manifestó Chaves.
“Conversamos juntos y nos dimos cuenta que la pérdida de Jimarki es profundamente dolorosa. Le mandamos a su hijo de tan solo 13 años un pésame muy profundo y sentido. Pero todos decidimos que vamos a continuar en esta gira porque la misión hay que cumplirla, con gran dolor vamos a seguir. Perdimos a un colega, pero vamos a seguir en esta gira sabiendo que al final del día es el bien del país lo que hay que seguir persiguiendo mientras sentimos el luto en nuestros corazones”, agregó.
Por último, Chaves indicó: “Qué Dios bendiga a Jimarki, lo acoja en el cielo y que Dios bendiga a todos estos hombres y mujeres que arriesgan su vida por la seguridad de este país”.
El accidente
El percance ocurrió al cierre del segundo día de actividades encabezada por el presidente Rodrigo Chaves en la zona sur del país, que involucra a todo el gabinete.
El bombero Jonathan Sandí declaró a El Guardián que el accidente ocurrió en Puerto Jiménez, diagonal a la Tienda El Gollo.
Un oficial de Tránsito que iba delante de la comitiva presidencial sufrió lesiones al ser el primero en ser impactado.
