Tigre fugado de zoológico mata a hombre y su nieto con 12 horas de diferencia en la India
Un tercer miembro de la familia murió de un infarto después de enterarse de la doble tragedia.
Trágico. Un hombre murió en la India tras el feroz ataque de un tigre de bengala que 12 horas antes había acabado con la vida de su nieto. Raju, de 70 años, era miembro de la tribu Jenu Kuruba, en Karnataka. El mamífero se había fugado días antes de la Reserva de Tigres de Nagarahole y andaba merodeando por la zona en busca de comida, informó The Hindu.
El trágico fallecimiento del anciano se produjo solo 12 horas después de que su nieto, Chethan, de 18 años, también fuera salvajemente atacado por un tigre de bengala mientras cosechaba café en un terreno familia
Sin embargo, el infortunio no terminó ahí, puesto que se conoció que Raju había asistido al funeral de Chethan justo antes de su propio deceso. Además, un tercer pariente, Jayamma, de 56 años, murió de un infarto tras enterarse de la doble tragedia familiar.
Los funcionarios de la zona asumieron que tanto Raju como Chethan fueron asesinados por el mismo felino e inmediatamente comenzaron a buscarlo. Para lograr la captura, se necesitó a cinco elefantes y casi 150 empleados de campo, así como 25 cámaras trampas, según B. N. Murthy, el conservador de bosques del círculo Kodagu de Karnataka.
Finalmente, luego de varias horas de búsqueda, el tigre de 9 años fue hallado cerca de la puerta Nanachi de la reserva Nagarahole, reportó Jam Press. En las imágenes, se aprecia al gran felino acostado sobre un tubo de desagüe antes de que fuera sedado y llevado al cautiverio, donde decidieron no sacrificarlo.
El ministro indio de Asuntos Legales y Parlamentarios, J. C. Madhuswamy, aseguró que los responsables del Departamento Forestal serían castigados si se comprueba que por su descuido el animal escapó y que eso condujo a las muertes de Chethan y Raju.
