Tres montañistas mueren en cuatro días escalando el Aconcagua en Argentina
Se trata de andinistas estadounidenses y un noruego que fallecieron por causas médicas cuando intentaban escalar el Aconcagua, en Argentina. Desde el inicio de la temporada el pasado 1 de diciembre, se ha registrado el acceso a la montaña de 2 500 andinistas.
Dos montañistas estadounidenses y un noruego murieron durante los últimos cuatro días mientras escalaban el Aconcagua, el pico más alto de América (6 960 metros), en Argentina, según dijeron fuentes policiales a la AFP.
Los tres andinistas fallecieron por causas médicas, tras ser socorridos por los servicios médicos y las patrullas policiales de alta montaña del Parque Aconcagua, en la provincia de Mendoza (1 000 km al oeste de Buenos Aires), limítrofe con Chile.
El estadounidense Ayn Vincent Day, de 41 años, murió el miércoles tras hacer cumbre en el cerro con gran esfuerzo y contra los consejos de su guía, y de descompensarse en el descenso, a 6.300 metros de altura, informó el subcomisario Marcos Páez, jefe de los rescatistas.
El sábado, el noruego Moi Oystein, de 62 años, se había convertido en la primera víctima fatal de la temporada de ascenso 2022-2023, tras sentirse mal en el paraje La Cueva, a 6 000 metros de altura.
Al día siguiente, el veterano de guerra estadounidense John Michael Magness, de 58 años, perdió la vida en su intento por escalar la montaña, cuando había alcanzado el Campamento Independencia (6 300 metros).
