Resalta abril como el mejor mes para planificar una escapada vacacional. En el cuarto mes del año habrá tres días feriados que, junto con un fin de semana, generarán un bloque de cinco días libres seguidos.
Esto sucederá en la primera semana de abril durante la Semana Santa. De acuerdo con el cronograma de feriados para 2023 los días Jueves Santo y Viernes Santo se disfrutarán el 6 y 7 de abril.
El 8 y el 9 de abril serán sábado y domingo y a ello se sumará que el feriado de la Batalla de Rivas que caerá martes, pero se trasladó su celebración para el día 10.
Esto gracias a la ley 9875 que ordenó trasladar este feriado para el lunes más cercano con el fin de alargar el fin de semana y promover el turismo interno durante los años 2020 al 2024.
Los tres días feriados que se disfrutarán en abril del 2023 y que forman parte de ese grupo de días libres son de pago obligatorio, según lo establece el artículo 148 del Código de Trabajo.
En el país existen 12 feriados que se festejan cada año. De ellos nueve son de pago obligatorio, los otros tres de pago no obligatorio.

Abril
6 de abril: Jueves Santo. (Pago obligatorio).
7 de abril: Viernes Santo. (Pago obligatorio).
Martes 11 de abril se traslada al lunes 10: Batalla de Rivas. (Pago obligatorio).
Mayo
Lunes 1° de mayo: Día del Trabajo. (Pago obligatorio).
Julio
Martes 25 de julio se traslada al lunes 24: Anexión del Partido de Nicoya a Costa Rica. (Pago obligatorio).
Agosto
Miércoles 2 de agosto: Día de la Virgen de los Ángeles (Pago no obligatorio).
Martes 15 de agosto se traslada al lunes 14: Día de la Madre. (Pago obligatorio).
Septiembre
31 de agosto se traslada al domingo 3 de septiembre: Día de la Persona Negra y la Cultura Afrocostarricense. (Pago no obligatorio).
Viernes 15 de septiembre: Día de la Independencia. (Pago obligatorio).
Diciembre
Viernes 1° de diciembre: Día de la Abolición del Ejército en Costa Rica. (Pago no obligatorio).
Lunes 25 de diciembre: Navidad. (Pago obligatorio).
