¡Orgullo nacional! Sherman Guity es el “Paratleta del año de América”
El costarricense luchó por el reconocimiento contra otros dos paratletas de Chile y Argentina.
Este miércoles 21 de diciembre, el Comité Paralímpico de las Américas, dio a conocer que el costarricense Sherman Guity, se convirtió en el “Paratleta del año 2022 de América”.

Guity obtuvo este reconocimiento, luego de lugar por el premio con los otros dos finalistas, el chileno Jorge Carinao y el argentino Enrique Plantey.
El Paratleta del año 2022 de América, se eligió por medio de votación que se dividió de dos maneras, el 40% era del público y el 60% otros atletas jurados, dichos resultados quedaron de la siguiente manera:
- Sherman Guity: 43,52%
- Enrique Plantey: 30,85%
- Jorge Carinao: 25,36%
Guity ha logrado posicionar su nombre a nivel mundial, luego de ganar dos medallas en los Juegos Paralímpicos Tokio 2021, donde obtuvo una de oro en los 200 metros con tiempo de 21:43 siendo hoy récord paralímpico, y otra de plata en los 100 metros planos (categoría T64) con un tiempo de 10.78 segundos.
También logró dejarse otra medalla de oro en este 2022, el Grand Prix de Notwill (Suiza) y otras dos más en el Grand Prix de Monterrey, México.
Sherman sin duda que se ha convertido en todo un orgullo para Costa Rica, además, de un ejemplo de lucha y perseverancia.
