Puente del Saprissa se encuentra en una situación de grave riesgo estructural
Se estima que el paso por el puente «viejo» del Virilla estará cerrado la mayor parte del 2023 por trabajos en la estructura.
Según ha dado a conocer el Conavi, el puente «viejo» sobre el río Virilla, más conocido como el Puente Saprissa, no cumple con las normativas vigentes en la actualidad en términos de capacidad resistente, límites tensionales y diseño frente a sismo y se encuentra en una situación de grave riesgo estructural.
Razón por la cual trascendió la información de que el puente estará cerrado durante la mayor parte del 2023, ya que las autoridades correspondientes trabajaran en la rehabilitación de la estructura y ampliación de tres carriles.
Dichos trabajos se estima que tendrán un costo de 21 millones de dólares y con respecto a la ampliación del puente sería hasta un ancho de 13 metros, esto con el objetivo de agilizar el tránsito vehicular por la zona.
Según indican las autoridades por el Puente del Virilla regularmente transitan cerca del 80% de las importaciones y exportaciones nacionales, además, de unos 25.000 vehículos que utilizan la estructura todos los días.
Con respecto a los trabajos, se estima que el cierre sea total en el puente, por lo que los usuarios ante eso tendrían que buscar rutas alternas para llegar a sus destinos que implicaban pasar por la zona.
