Se reportan al menos 59 fallecidos tras estampida en fiesta de Halloween en Seúl
Tragedia en Corea del Sur. El presidente del país asiático, Yoon Suk-yeol, ha ordenado ejecutar una operación de emergencia con el fin de suministrar primeros auxilios para los afectados y que dispongan de camas y atención hospitalaria.
Al menos 59 personas fallecieron y otras 150 resultaron heridas en el barrio de Itaewon, el punto más concurrido para celebrar Hallowen en Seúl, luego de una estrampida en las cercanías del Hotel Hamilton, frente a la estación de metro.
En redes sociales, cientos de vídeos muestran a los equipos de emergencia practicando maniobras de resucitación sobre decenas de personas en las calles, luego de que el presidente surcoreano Yoon Suk-yeol había ordenado ejecutar una operación de emergencia para suministrar primeros auxilios.
Una presunta estampida tuvo lugar a las 23.30 (hora local) del sábado, en las cercanías del Hotel Hamilton, frente a la estación de metro de Itaewon. En este lugar colindante con una base militar estadounidense, cada año se reúnen para celebrar Hallowen en Seúl.
De acuerdo a testigos citados por medios surcoreanos, el incidente tuvo lugar en un callejón en pendiente y aledaño al mencionado hotel, una caída colectiva se produjo en el punto más alto, lo que provocó un desmoronamiento en cadena.
Las imágenes publicadas en redes sociales muestran a un gran número de gente atrapada en un callejón mientras los equipos de emergencia tratan de evacuar a algunos de ellos.
Los heridos han sido trasladados a diferentes hospitales de la capital surcoreana. Cada año el barrio de Itaewon, colindante con una base militar estadounidense, se convierte en el punto más concurrido para celebrar Hallowen en Seúl, y, según medios locales, miles de personas se habían congregado hoy en la zona.
