Rodrigo Chaves firma decreto que permite homologar el registro sanitario de los medicamentos
El registro de medicinas pasará de demorar año y medio en ser aprobado, a un plazo de 30 días.
El Poder Ejecutivo firmó la mañana del miércoles 22 de junio un decreto para agilizar el registro de medicamentos en Costa Rica.
De acuerdo con la jerarca del Ministerio de Salud, Joselyn Chacón, su cartera tendrá, a partir de la entrada en vigencia del decreto, un plazo de 30 días para dar un permiso de registro de medicamentos. En la actualidad el plazo es de alrededor de año y medio.
Se trata del decreto sobre los Requisitos y Procedimientos para la Homologación del Registro Sanitario de Medicamentos. El mandatario Rodrigo Chaves aseguró que este es el primer paso para lograr una reducción en el precio de las medicinas en las farmacias de Costa Rica ya que “quita un montón de restricciones y quita la discreción de burócratas”
Chacón indicó que este decreto comenzará a regir seis meses después contados a partir de su publicación en el diario oficial La Gaceta. La jerarca agregó que este proyecto de homologación se intentó llevar adelante en varias administraciones pero no es sino hasta ahora que se logra concretarlo.
La ministra señaló que el beneficio no solo será para quienes compren en farmacias, sino también para la Caja Costarricense de Seguro Social (CCSS) pues habrá más competidores y oferentes.
La homologación de registro no constituye un obstáculo para que el Ministerio de Salud adopte los mecanismos de inspección, vigilancia y control que le posibiliten determinar y comprobar la calidad, eficacia, trazabilidad y seguridad de los productos que se comercialicen en el mercado nacional.
