¿Christian Sandoval fue arrestado en Catar? Revelan por qué fue detenido por la policía
El periodista vivió segundos de tensión junto a sus colegas Eduardo Castillo y Yashin Quesada durante una visita a un mercado en Doha.
Este martes la Selección Nacional de Costa Rica se enfrentará a su similar de Nueva Zelanda en Doha, en el decisivo repechaje intercontinental a la Copa Mundial de la FIFA Qatar 2022.
Por eso varios periodistas ticos viajaron hasta Catar para realizar la cobertura de la aventura futbolística de La Sele y por supuesto ya les pasó el primer “pacho”.
Según informó el periódico La Nación los periodistas de Teletica Radio Christian Sandoval y Eduardo Castillo, así como Yashin Quesada, de Radio Columbia, fueron detenidos por las autoridades policiales y llevados a una delegación.
Sandoval y Castillo se encontraban en el mercado Souq Waqif grabando el programa Crónica, que se transmite en Teletica Radio y las plataformas de TD Más y canal 7. Sin embargo, de pronto tuvieron que interrumpir el espacio porque un oficial de seguridad se les acercó y les impidió seguir grabando.
“Nosotros estábamos haciendo el programa de la tarde, estábamos haciendo un video y audio por todo el mercado. Pasamos por la zona de restaurantes y resulta que después de un rato llegó un oficial de seguridad del mercado a preguntarnos por los documentos y permisos para grabar dentro del mercado”, contó Sandoval a la revista Viva.
Pese a que los periodistas mostraron los documentos y permisos dados por la FIFA y por el gobierno de Catar para filmar en sitios públicos el uniformados les indicó que no podían seguir grabando.
“Lo que hicimos fue dejar de grabar, apagamos el equipo (…) Cuando íbamos para afuera el mismo oficial nos dijo que no nos podíamos ir, que teníamos que acompañarlo a una especie de delegación o comisaría que tienen en el mercado”, contó Sandoval.
Los periodistas permanecieron en ese lugar por un espacio de 30 minutos, volvieron a presentar las acreditaciones y los documentos con los permisos para trabajar en la sede de la cita mundialista, pero el oficial, no comprendió pues solo hablaba árabe.
Minutos después llegó un policía que hablaba inglés y ahí la situación se empezó a calmar.
“Afortunadamente llegó el oficial que hablaba inglés porque el otro señor solo hablaba árabe. A este nuevo oficial le enseñamos los documentos y después de eso nos dejaron ir”, agregó el comunicador, quien contó que Yashin Quesada no estaba haciendo ninguna grabación, pero por estar con ellos también fue trasladado a la delegación.
“No fue que nos arrestaron ni que nos llevaron esposados porque estábamos haciendo algo que no teníamos que hacer. Se dio esta situación donde la autoridad nos pidió que lo acompañáramos. No nos metieron a la cárcel”, manifestó el periodista.
