Ministra de Salud: “No vamos a ser un Gobierno en pro del aborto”
Joselyn Chacón informó que en junio iniciará revisión de norma técnica sobre aborto terapéutico.
La mañana de este jueves el presidente de la República, Rodrigo Chaves Robles se reunió con integrantes de la Conferencia Episcopal.
Tras concluir el encuentro la jerarca del Ministerio de Salud, Joselyn Chacón, aseguró que en el mes de junio la norma técnica para la interrupción terapéutica del embarazo será sometida a “revisión”.
“Será una comisión, iniciaremos el próximo mes a tener estudios sobre el tema, prevalecerá siempre la vida de la madre eso sí, realmente estamos muy de la mano muy acorde con las solicitudes de los señores (obispos) y también de don Rodrigo. Realmente no vamos a ser un Gobierno en pro del aborto. Siempre salvaguardando la vida de la madre”, declaró Chacón ante los medios.
Por su parte Chaves indicó que con la revisión de la norma se pretende “evitar portillos”.
“Mi posición desde la campaña y por los próximo cuatro años va a ser que la norma técnica tiene un objetivo único que es normar las condiciones bajo las cuales un embarazo no puede continuar bajo el principio estricto de que es necesario llevar ese procedimiento médico adelante para proteger y salvar la vida de la madre”, manifestó el presidente.
“Y que entonces, yo no soy experto, si hubiese portillos por los cuales alguien quisiera desviarse de ese objetivo claro que es proteger a la vida de la madre pues entonces eso hay que revisarlo”, agregó.
La norma técnica fue firmada en diciembre del 2019 por el entonces presidente Carlos Alvarado y establece la normativa necesaria para que se asegure la aplicación del aborto terapéutico en el país.
