OIJ y Fiscalía allanan oficina y casas de ministro Méndez Mata por caso “Cochinilla”
Las autoridades buscan pruebas por aparentes irregularidades en el manejo de plantas asfálticas.
El Organismo de Investigación Judicial (OIJ) y la Fiscalía allanaron la mañana de este jueves la oficina y dos casas del jerarca del Ministerio de Obras Públicas y Transportes (MOPT), Rodolfo Méndez Mata. La investigación se relaciona con el caso denominado por las autoridades como “Cochinilla”.
A las 6:30 a.m. los agentes del OIJ ingresaron a las instalaciones del MOPT para realizar las acciones operativas que están dirigidas por el fiscal subrogante Miguel Ramírez López.
El Ministerio Público indicó, por medio de un comunicado de prensa, que el allanamiento está relacionado con el caso “Cochinilla”.
Recordemos que en este caso, que se dio a conocer el año 2021, se investigan supuestos casos de corrupción entre funcionarios públicos y empresarios encargados de realizar obra pública en carreteras del país.
¿Cuál es el objetivo de este nuevo allanamiento? Según información del Ministerio Público se busca prueba relacionada con presuntas irregularidades en el manejo de plantas asfálticas y también la supuesta evidencia de que rutas cantonales se habrían convertido a nacionales para beneficiar a terceras personas.
La Fiscalía explicó que las autoridades buscan pruebas específicamente en tres oficinas del MOPT: el despacho del ministro Méndez Mata, la dirección de informática y la oficina de planificación sectorial.
Simultáneamente se realizaron allanamientos en dos casas que son propiedad del titular del MOPT: uno en Moravia, en San José y otro en Bajo Corrales de Naranjo, Alajuela.
Según informó Telenoticias, hasta el momento los agentes del OIJ no han sacado todavía ningún documento ni ninguna computadora del MOPT porque, por tratarse en este caso de un supremo poder de la República, tienen que esperar a que esté presente el fiscal subrogante a cargo de esta investigación.
