Ramón Luis Méndez está furioso con el INS y lo demanda: póliza pasó de ₡54 mil a ₡1,1 millones
El incremento en el costo de la póliza de vida se registró cuando el exárbitro cumplió los 65 años de edad.
El exárbitro y comentarista de televisión, Ramón Luis Méndez, presentó una demanda contra el Instituto Nacional de Seguros (INS), luego de que su póliza de vida registrara un “incremento desproporcionado”.
Méndez contó al medio digital CRHoy.com que él pagaba por mes ₡54 mil por una póliza de “Vida Plus, enfermedades graves y protección múltiple”. Pero tras cumplir los 65 años de edad y convertirse en adulto mayor ahora la aseguradora estatal le está cobrando una cifra cercana a ₡1,1 millones.
“Ese es el apoyo, ese es el abrazo al adulto mayor que definitivamente yo lo reprocho y eso de que en el INS estamos para servirle cuando menos a mí me han quedado debiendo porque eso no se hace muchísimo menos con las campañas que hay para ayudar a las personas de la tercera edad”, declaró el exárbitro al medio digital.
“Entonces tienen dos caras una que es para vender la póliza y otra es lo que la póliza en sí representa para el INS que es simple y sencillamente ganar dinero y olvidarse de poder ayudar a las personas, repito como este servidor, que somos ya adultos mayores”, agregó.
La acción fue presentada el pasado 4 de noviembre por el abogado Walter Brenes.
Según indica CRHoy.com el documento de la demanda señala que Méndez, aparentemente, sufrió un trato discriminatorio pues se le aumentó el valor de la póliza en más de un 2082 % sin que se le hiciera tan siquiera un chequeo médico.
Además expone que el aumento es “temerario, infundado e improcedente”. También se cuestiona que la edad sea el único elemento que se aplique para obtener el valor de la póliza, sin que se haga un análisis médico de la persona.
El exárbitro solicitó una indemnización de ₡15 millones.

La oficina de prensa del INS indicó al periódico La Nación que la gestión se encuentra en trámite.
