Presidente Alvarado veta rebaja al marchamo del 2022
“Es por el bien del país”, aseguró el mandatario.
El Presidente de la República, Carlos Alvarado, vetó la rebaja del marchamo 2022 cuyo cobro iniciará el próximo lunes. Así lo dio a conocer por medio de un mensaje que dirigió la noche de este viernes a la ciudadanía.
El mandatario vetó el proyecto de ley que fue aprobado en segundo debate por los diputados el pasado 21 de octubre.
“De hecho, por ese tipo de cosas, por decisiones tomadas en el pasado que no eran buenas pero se veían bonitas, es que se crearon privilegios o gastos sin financiamiento; y por eso el país acabó metido en un grave faltante fiscal y un altísimo endeudamiento. Llevamos 3 años luchando para enderezar esos problemas acumulados por décadas, y todavía falta, porque ninguna fiesta es gratis”, agregó.
En su mensaje al país, Alvarado, manifestó que la reducción del marchamo podría parecer que ayuda a la economía de las personas que tienen carro. Pero que los diputados no trabajaron bien la propuesta.
“Lo aprobado genera un hueco presupuestario y enviaría a los mercados un mensaje negativo que pondría en riesgo la estabilidad económica del país. Y además va contra los objetivos del acuerdo que hemos alcanzado con el Fondo Monetario Internacional (FMI) para estabilizar la economía”, añadió.
El presidente Alvarado considera que de aprobar esa medida la terminarían pagando todas las personas, tengan o no tengan carro, y con intereses. “A la larga, nos saldría más caro a todas y todos”.
“Por esos resultados negativos para todo el país, y porque además tiene vicios de inconstitucionalidad, ya que no le hicieron una consulta obligatoria al Instituto Nacional de Seguros (INS), he decidido vetar esta ley. Como Presidente me toca hacer lo mejor por el país. No se trata de eludir las decisiones difíciles para buscar popularidad momentánea”, finalizó.
