Costa Rica recibe 50 mil vacunas anticovid de AstraZeneca donadas por Austria
Con este nuevo lote, el número 50, el país supera los 6,5 millones de dosis de vacunas contra la Covid-19 recibidas.
Un contingente de 50 mil vacunas contra el coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 donadas por el Gobierno de Austria llegó la noche de este sábado a territorio costarricense. Se trata de biológicos de la farmacéutica AstraZeneca.
Con este nuevo lote, el número 50, Costa Rica supera los 6,5 millones de dosis de vacunas contra la Covid-19 recibidas.
“Nuestro profundo agradecimiento para Austria y el presidente Alexander Van Der Bellen. Avanza aceleradamente la vacunación en Costa Rica gracias a impulsos como este, que nos ofrece hoy el Gobierno de Austria, y a las contrataciones que negoció nuestro país. Seguiremos trabajando incansablemente para garantizar la inmunidad de la población”, manifestó el mandatario de la República.
Es la cuarta donación de otros gobiernos a Costa Rica
De esta forma, el país alcanza un total de 941.900 dosis donadas: 503.100 por el Gobierno de Estados Unidos, 319.200 por Canadá, 69.600 por España y 50.000 por Austria.
Gracias al nuevo envío, el número 50 desde que comenzaron los embarques en diciembre del 2020, Costa Rica ha recibido un total de 6.545.495 dosis de vacunas contra la Covid-19. De estas, 5.603.595 vacunas corresponden a contratos de compra: 4.569.045 son compradas a Pfizer/BioNTech, 775.200 dosis adquiridas con AstraZeneca y 259.350 por medio del mecanismo multilateral COVAX.
Esta semana llegaron 192.740 dosis, ya que el jueves ingresaron 142.740 dosis de Pfizer/BioNTech.
Con 1.432.680 dosis, setiembre cerró como el mes con mayor cantidad de vacunas recibidas.
