Seguirá preso. Rechazan cese de prisión preventiva a dueño de Meco, Carlos Cerdas
Jueza se negó a revertir la medida cautelar.
El Juzgado Penal de Hacienda y Función Pública rechazó la petición de la defensa de Carlos Cerdas Araya, propietario de la constructora Meco, para dejarlo en libertad con otras medidas cautelares. Por lo que el empresario continuará en la cárcel.
La resolución fue emitida por la jueza Carolina Lizano Salazar y fue comunicada a las partes el viernes anterior.
Cerdas Araya fue detenido por el caso “Cochinilla” en el que se investiga a funcionarios del Gobierno y de empresas privadas por la supuesta malversación de fondos destinados a la construcción de obra pública.
El dueño de la constructora Meco se encuentra en prisión desde el pasado 19 de junio cuando el Tribunal Penal de Hacienda consideró ineficaz una fianza impuesta en primera instancia, de $5 millones, y ordenó que el empresario permaneciera al menos cuatro meses en prisión preventiva. Este plazo vence el 19 de octubre.
Cambio de medidas cautelares
Sin embargo, ninguno de los representantes legales del empresario ha explicado cuales son las razones para ello.
Ante la solicitud del cese de prisión preventiva la jueza Carolina Lizano concluyó que aún no ha operado ningún cambio en las condiciones que dieron origen a la orden del encarcelamiento.
La resolución de Lizano no fue bien recibida por la defensa de Cerdas.
“Nosotros vamos a impugnar, porque la resolución la respetamos, pero no la podemos compartir, porque contiene una serie de imprecisiones y contradicciones e, incluso, una renuncia al principio de independencia judicial, lo cual es bastante preocupante”, declaró el jurista Ramos a La Nación.
