Costa Rica recibirá 50.000 vacunas de AstraZeneca donadas por Austria
Carlos Alvarado sostuvo una reunión bilateral con el presidente de Austria, Alexander Van Der Bellen, en el marco de su gira de trabajo en la ONU.
En el marco de su gira de trabajo en la Organización de las Naciones Unidas (ONU), el presidente de la República, Carlos Alvarado, sostuvo una reunión bilateral con el presidente de Austria, Alexander Van Der Bellen, quien confirmó que el país europeo donará a Costa Rica 50.000 dosis de la vacuna contra el virus SARS-CoV-2.
La donación directa sería de dosis de la marca AstraZeneca-Oxford, las cuales permitirían continuar con la aceleración de la campaña de vacunación en todo el país.
“Seguimos trabajando para acceder a más vacunas que garanticen la mayor cantidad de personas vacunadas en el país. Nuestro profundo agradecimiento al Gobierno y al pueblo de Austria por esta donación, porque constituye un impulso a la campaña de vacunación que sostiene Costa Rica. Este nuevo aporte demuestra la solidez de nuestras relaciones bilaterales con países amigos”, dijo el presidente Carlos Alvarado Quesada.
Este envío representaría la cuarta donación de otros Gobiernos a Costa Rica con la que se sumarían un total de 941.900 dosis donadas, que corresponden a los Gobiernos de Estados Unidos (503.100), Canadá (319.200), España (69.600), y Austria (50.000).
