“¡Gané el oro! El camino no ha sido fácil, pero lo logré”, Sherman Guity tras obtener medalla
Guity obtuvo la presea de oro en los 200 metros en las justas de Tokyo 2020 y es nuevo récord paralímpico.
El paraatleta Sherman Guity Guity llenó de alegría los corazones de todos los ticos la mañana de este sábado al ganar la primera medalla de oro paralímpica en la historia de Costa Rica.
Con un tiempo de 21.43, el nacional se bañó en oro en los Juegos Paralímpicos Tokyo 2020.
“¡Gane el Oro! El camino no ha sido fácil, pero lo logré, pude cumplir mi sueño y la promesa que hice después de mi accidente, gracias a todas las personas que estuvieron conmigo. ¡Gané 2 medallas y récord paralímpico!” escribió el paravelocista.
Sherman de oro
El paravelocista costarricense Sherman Güity ganó la madrugada de este sábado la medalla de oro en la categoría de 200 metros planos T64 del atletismo en los Juegos Paralímpicos Tokyo 2020, tras cruzar la meta con un tiempo de 21. 43 segundos.
La categoría de para atletismo T64 se refiere a los atletas que compiten en velocidad y tienen una amputación en la pierna.
En la prueba de semifinales, Guity, había roto el récord paralímpico presente tras finalizar de primero en su heat eliminatorio con un tiempo de 21:84.
El pasado 30 de agosto, el paravelocista hizo historia al ganar la primera medalla de plata para Costa Rica en unas justas paralímpicas.
Con este triunfo, Sherman Guity se convierte en el paraatleta más destacado en la historia de Costa Rica al sumar una plata en los 100 metros y el oro gigantesco de este sábado.
El podio quedó de la siguiente manera:
Oro: Sherman Güity – Costa Rica (21.43).
Plata: Félix Streng – Alemania (21.78).
Bronce: Jarryd Wallace – Estados Unidos (22.09).
