¡Orgullo tico! Sherman Güity gana plata en Juegos Paralímpicos Tokyo 2020
Güity logró la primera medalla paralímpica en la historia de Costa Rica.
El paravelocista costarricense Sherman Güity ganó este lunes la medalla de plata en la categoría de 100 metros lisos T64 del atletismo en los Juegos Paralímpicos Tokyo 2020, tras cruzar la meta con un tiempo de 10.78 segundos.
Güity quedó en segundo lugar en la final, logrando la primera medalla paralímpica en la historia de Costa Rica.
El heat final del costarricense fue ante Johannes Floors, de Alemania; Jarryd Wallace de, Estados Unidos; Jonathan Gore, de Estados Unidos; Jonnie Peacook, de Gran Bretaña; Felix Streng de Alemania y Mpumelelo Mhlongo, de Sudáfrica.
La categoría de para atletismo T64 se refiere a los atletas que compiten en velocidad y tienen una amputación en la pierna.
Oro: Felix Streng (10.76).
Plata: Sherman Güity Güity (10.78).
Bronce: Jonnie Peacook ( 10.79).
