Henry Núñez a Leonardo Chacón: “Ser un gran atleta no lo autoriza a mentir y calumniar”
Presidente del Comité Olímpico Nacional aseguró que el triatlonista le mintió a sus seguidores porque siempre recibió la beca olímpica completa.
El presidente del Comité Olímpico Nacional (CON), Henry Núnez, no se guardó nada tras su regreso de los Juegos Olímpicos Tokyo 2020 y se refirió sobre las polémicas declaraciones que realizó el triatleta nacional Leonardo Chacón hace unos días.
El deportista aseguró que el sistema deportivo nacional es inexistente, y que el Comité Olímpico Nacional otorga becas a dedo.
“Leonardo Chacón está mintiendoles a sus seguidores, yo sé que Leonardo maneja bien su redes sociales, pero eso no significa que una mentira que se repita 1000 veces se va a convertir en una verdad”, indicó el jerarca.
Nuñez manifestó que Chacón siempre contó con el respaldo y apoyo del CON por eso no entiende sus declaraciones.
“Él siempre ha cuestionado que el Comité Olímpico no le daba las becas completas, lo cual es totalmente falso, una beca olímpica es de $1000 mensuales o el Comité incluso puede dividirlas en dos becas de $500 el Comité Olímpico Internacional nos da seis becas por cuatrienio y esas las dividimos entre seis o más atletas dependiendo, pero a Leonardo siempre se le dio la beca de $1000 completa y ya se lo había demostrado hace cinco años cuando lo dijo por primera vez, que a él nunca se le quitó un colón de esa beca”, agregó el presidente del CON.
El jerarca agregó: “Entonces es totalmente falso, calumnioso y mentira. Leonardo puede ser un gran atleta, lo cual no cuestiono, pero eso no lo autoriza para mentir y calumniar, incluso en estos días voy a mostrar un certificado del Comité Olímpico Internacional para desmentirlo con documentos”.
Además, Henry Núnez, indicó que a él no lo apantalla que Leonardo haya sido atleta olímpico porque él también lo fue (judoca) y a diferencia del triatlonista él nunca recibió dinero.
“Que Leonardo haya sido atleta olímpico a mí no me apantalla, yo fui atleta olímpico en dos juegos olímpicos y yo sí nunca recibí pero ni un colón, Leonardo recibió millones de millones, Leonardo no es un atleta pobrecito, además de eso él recibió muchos patrocinadores y esos son dineros que se lo dejaba para él, nunca los usó para prepararse, él usaba el recurso que que le daba el Comité Olímpico, la Federación, el Gobierno, las Federaciones Internacionales, para su preparación, los patrocinios privados a él le quedaban como ahorro, lo cual me parece bien pero que no venga aquí a decir que no tu apoyo, que pobrecito y que es un atleta sacrificado”, indicó Núñez.
Por último, el titular del CON manifestó sentirse orgulloso del trabajo que se ha realizado en la entidad olímpica nacional.
“Yo me siento muy orgulloso del trabajo que hemos realizado, he sido muy honesto en el recurso que hemos administrado y eso lo pueden decir todas las auditorías nacionales e internacionales que le han hecho al Comité Olímpico, a mí nadie me puede cuestionar que se haya manejado un colón mal o que yo le haya permitido a alguien a mi alrededor que se haya llevado un colón que no debía”, finalizó.
