Concluyen escultura de la Virgen de los Ángeles más grande del mundo
La obra estará en Guanacaste y será inaugurada el próximo 2 de agosto, durante la Fiesta Nacional en honor a La Negrita.
Tras dos meses de intenso trabajo ya está terminada la escultura de la Virgen de los Ángeles más grande del mundo.
La escultura, de 16 metros de altura, es obra del escultor nicaragüense Ricardo López, está conformada por cuatro piezas compuestas por metal, hierro, varilla y cemento.
El ingreso para conocer la escultura será gratis, eso sí los fieles deberán entrar en grupos pequeños y respetar las medidas sanitarias.
De acuerdo con una publicación del periódico oficial de la Conferencia Episcopal de Costa Rica, Eco Católico, el proyecto simboliza la espiritualidad, la fe y la esperanza, especialmente en momentos tan complicados como los que vive el país por la pandemia de la Covid-19.
El Santuario El Salto de Guanacaste es un megaproyecto llevado a cabo entre los vecinos de Liberia y Bagaces en conjunto con la empresa Amano.
La escultura de 16 metros de altura de Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles forma parte de la primera etapa del santuario que cuenta con un terreno de tres hectáreas.
Entre sus próximos proyectos se encuentra la construcción de una cruz de 33 metros de altura, que contará con iluminación de lámparas solares, para que pueda ser apreciada por las noches desde la Carretera Interamericana.
También se elaborará un pesebre navideño tamaño natural que incluirá, adicional a la Sagrada Familia, la confección de 100 figuras, entre animales, pastores y santos, una capilla de oración de 200 metros cuadrados y una escultura del Cristo Redentor.
El santuario se ubica en El Salto de Bagaces a tan solo 10 minutos de Liberia.
El proyecto, que busca convertirse en un lugar de peregrinación y espitirualidad, tendrá un costo aproximado de ₡620 millones y es financiado por los empresarios y vecinos de la zona.
