Madre de Luany Salazar: “La justicia patriarcal de este país es una basura”
El femicida de la joven, Kenneth Mejía, fue condenado a 19 años de prisión.
“Yo le doy gracias a los jueces porque sé que se agarraron de las herramientas que tenían que agarrarse, pero la justicia patriarcal de este país es una basura. 19 años por la vida de una mujer de 23 años. Yo quisiera saber si hubiera sido la hija de uno de ellos (jueces), a ver si lo hubieran condenado a 19 años también”.
Así reaccionó Patricia Zamora, la madre de Luany Valeria Salazar Zamora, tras escuchar este lunes la sentencia contra el sujeto que mató a su hija en junio del 2020.
Los jueces Ericka Soto Barrantes, Andrés Saborío Cascante y Saylin Ballestero Mora del Tribunal Penal de Cartago condenaron de manera unánime a Kenneth Enrique Mejía Chavarría a 19 años de cárcel por el homicidio de Luany Valeria Salazar Zamora, de 23 años.
A Mejía se le impuso esa pena por los delitos de homicidio simple (18 años) y hurto agravado (un año).
Por su parte el defensor de la familia de Luany, Joseph Rivera, se manifestó satisfecho por la decisión de los jueces ya que se logró comprobar la culpabilidad de Mejía, pero indicó que buscarán llevar el caso a instancias de apelación.
“Estoy satisfecho porque se comprueba que él (Kenneth Mejía) la mató, pero en el momento oportuno vamos a presentar un recurso de apelación cuando tengamos la sentencia integral para analizar el tema de la calificación legal para ver si el tribunal acepta la apelación de la sentencia, y determinar así que sí hubo ensañamiento y alevosía contra Luany”, aseguró el jurista.
El Tribunal, reconoció un daño moral para la familia equivalente a 15 millones de colones.
Mientras la sentencia de este lunes queda en firme, el sospechosos permanecerá en prisión preventiva.
