Vecinos pintan y rayan esfera precolombina en Puntarenas
Arqueólogos solicitan respetar estos objetos únicos que representan el patrimonio cultural de la zona.
Las monumentales esferas de piedra de Costa Rica o esferas precolombinas, son construcciones artísticas realizadas en piedra por nativos del país alrededor del año 600. Su impecable geometría y la ausencia de referencias escritas que permitan contextualizarlas aumentan la fascinación que las rodea.
Pintar una esfera no solo afecta su originalidad si no el verdadero simbolismo del legado ancestral que es reconocido en todo el mundo. Sin embargo, a unos vecinos de la localidad de Buenos Aires de Puntarenas se les ocurrió “darle color” a una de las esferas que se encuentra en el parque de la localidad. Hecho que ha generado la indignación y el repudio de muchos.
Buenos Aires de Puntarenas es conocido como la “Cuna de las Culturas Indígenas”, sin embargo, algunos de los habitantes indican que con el paso de los años, se pisotean los valores y los símbolos más importantes de los pueblos originarios.
“Nosotros sabemos que en Costa Rica el trato que se le da al patrimonio arquitectónico el trato que se le da a las esferas de piedra especial ha sido un trato indigno. Cientos de esferas fueron movidas de su lugares originales fueron trasladadas, se perdió la información que estaba vinculada a ellas, se perdió la información de los sitios arqueológicos donde estaban”, agregó Quintanilla.
