MEP rebajará salario a 1660 docentes que participaron en la huelga promovida por sindicatos
Una reforma al Código de Trabajo permite descontarles el día de forma inmediata a los profesores.
1660 profesores que participaron en la huelga promovida por los sindicatos magisteriales el 19 de mayo anterior percibirán una rebaja salarial en el pago del mes de junio.
El movimiento de protesta, que fue virtual, fue promovido por los sindicatos del sector educación. Uno de los objetivos del movimiento fue hacer un homenaje a los trabajadores del sector educación que han fallecido en los últimos meses a causa de la Covid-19.
Díaz, explicó al periódico La Nación que al ser un “hecho de mera constatación” se procederá al rebajo del día no laborado a cada docente, durante la primera y segunda quincena de junio.
Días antes del movimiento, el MEP, había advertido a los profesores de que la ley de huelgas, que fue aprobada en setiembre de 2019, los facultaba a descontarles del salario el día que se ausentaran por participar en la protesta.
Sin embargo, el MEP, prefirió interrumpir el curso lectivo 2021 por 49 días pues las clases en línea no eran posibles para unos 425 mil alumnos que no cuentan con Internet ni con el equipo adecuado en sus hogares para recibir las lecciones.
Pese al anuncio del Gobierno el lunes 17 de mayo anterior, la huelga se efectuó el 19 de mayo.
Steven González, viceministro administrativo del MEP, indicó que el movimiento que organizaron los sindicatos del Magisterio Nacional era “ilegal y contradictorio a los planteamientos en la Junta Paritaria”.
La reforma al Código de Trabajo autoriza a las autoridades públicas a realizar el rebajo de forma inmediata (en la planilla siguiente) del salario correspondiente al tiempo no trabajado por cada funcionario sin que exista una declaratoria de ilegalidad del movimiento como se daba antes.
