Comunidad médica y científica solicita la destitución de Bolsonaro en Brasil
Bolsonaro acumula más de 60 solicitudes de juicio político en su contra. La más reciente fue presentada por la Conferencia Episcopal del país.
Este lunes 8 de febrero, especialistas brasileños de la medicina y ciencia presentaron una nueva solicitud de juicio político contra el presidente de Brasil, Jair Bolsonaro, por su gestión en la pandemia de la COVID-19.
En el documento remitido a la Cámara de Diputados, los firmantes aseguraron que desde marzo de 2020 las acciones y comentarios del mandatario llevaron al país “a un precipicio negacionista que implicó—y sigue implicando—la pérdida de vidas y perjuicios incalculables, desde la salud a la economía”.
Los expertos indicaron que Bolsonaro ha utilizado “sus poderes legales y su fuerza política para desacreditar medidas de salud probadas y desorientar a la población, la cual debía proteger”, según recogió Globo.
Entre el listado de firmas se encuentran exfuncionarios de instituciones ligadas al Estado como: Gonzalo Vecina Neto, expresidente de la Agencia de Vigilancia Sanitaria de Brasil (Anvisa), ente estatal encargado de la regulación y autorización de las vacunas contra la COVID-19; y Eloan dos Santos Pinheiro, exresponsable de Farmacología de la Fundación Oswaldo Cruz (Fiocruz), organismo encargado de la producción de las dosis AstraZeneca en el país.
Desde que Bolsonaro fue investido como máxima autoridad de Brasil, se presentaron más de 60 solicitudes de juicio político en su contra. Gran parte de estas peticiones tuvieron como justificación las acciones tomadas por el Gobierno frente a la pandemia del SARS-CoV-2. La más reciente fue manifestada por la Conferencia Episcopal local.
Brasil es el tercer país más golpeado por el coronavirus con más de 9,5 millones de contagios registrados. Respecto a la mortalidad, la nación ocupa el segundo lugar con cerca de 232.000 decesos por la COVID-19.
