Xiaomi demanda al gobierno de Estados Unidos por incluirla en la lista negra
La cruzada contra las marcas chinas continúa en EE. UU. El Departamento de los Estados Unidos hizo oficial el veto para la conocida fabricante de teléfonos china Xiaomi, cuyo nombre aparece en la lista negra de aquel país. Es por ello que la compañía ha decidido presentar una demanda contra el Gobierno estadounidense.
El motivo por el cual Donald Trump decidió colocar el nombre de Xiaomi en la lista negra fue por los supuestos vínculos y control del Gobierno chino dentro de la fabricante de smartphones. Esta acusación fue rechazada tajantemente por la empresa mediante un comunicado en las redes sociales.
Según detalla Xataka, la compañía presentó su demanda en el tribunal del distrito estadounidense de Columbia en contra de los departamentos de Defensa y del Tesoro de Estados Unidos, donde señala que “enfrenta un daño inminente, severo e irreparable si la designación permanece”.
Cabe recordar que solo bastó que el nombre de la fabricante de smartphones aparezca en la lista negra para que pierda el 10% de su valor bursátil. No obstante, el veto que recibió no es tan riguroso como el que recibió Huawei, ya que aún puede seguir trabajado con importantes proveedores como Google, Qualcomm y TSMC.
En el comunicado que publicó Xiaomi en las redes sociales se lee lo siguiente: “Xiaomi no es propiedad ni está controlada ni afiliada de ninguna otra manera al Gobierno o al Ejército chino, ni es propiedad ni está controlada por ninguna entidad afiliada a la base industrial de defensa china”.
De esta manera, la compañía decidió salir a defenderse frente a las acusaciones que emitió el Gobierno de Estados Unidos, cuando Donald Trump era presidente, en su contra. Con este veto, Xiaomi pasa a estar en la lista negra al igual que otras compañías chinas como ByteDance, creadores de TikTok y Huawei.
