Desaparecen 16 niños en el mar tras ser deportados desde Trinidad en Venezuela
Entre los menores de edad, se encuentra un bebé de cuatro meses, informan medios locales.
Desde la tarde del último lunes, fue reportada la desaparición de 16 niños y nueve mujeres de nacionalidad venezolana en alta mar, luego de ser deportados por autoridades de Trinidad y Tobago. Entre los menores, se encuentra un bebé de cuatro meses.
La información fue dada a conocer por David Smolansky, quien se desempeña como comisionado de la Secretaría General de la OEA para la crisis de migrantes y refugiados venezolanos.

La diputada venezolana Mariela Magallanes dijo a NTN24 que los menores de edad habían llegado a la isla para reencontrarse con sus padres, pero fueron detenidos por la policía migratoria y encerrados en calabozos.
“Una abogada de DD. HH. quiso impedir la deportación de los menores con la introducción de un hábeas corpus para que fueran protegidos. Ese procedimiento jurídico, que exige el retorno de los niños por parte de una jueza, tenía que llegar a las 3.00 de la tarde pero la policía migratoria aceleró la deportación”, contó Magallanes.
Asimismo, señaló que maneja hasta ahora el término de “presunta deportación” debido a que las personas fueron trasladadas en botes precarios, que no corresponden a equipos de una autoridad migratoria, y en condiciones climáticas desfavorables.
Magallanes denunció y repudió que el comportamiento en la isla “está bajo la complicidad de las autoridades”. “Tenemos que exigir al gobierno de Trinidad y Tobago que devuelvan a los niños, que garanticen la vida y la salud de ellos”, remarcó.
Según Smolansky, algunos niños fueron separados de sus padres que ya estaban como residentes legales en Trinidad y Tobago.
Ante lo ocurrido, la Comisión Interamericana de DD. HH (CIDH), expresó su preocupación por la deportación de refugiados y migrantes venezolanos, incluyendo 16 niños y adolescentes.

Hasta ahora, el gobierno de Nicolás Maduro no se ha pronunciado sobre la desaparición de los menores de edad.
Familiares de los niños y mujeres se expresaron por medio de un video difundido en redes sociales. Manifestaron estar preocupados por no saber del paradero de sus parientes y por el estado de las embarcaciones en las que zarparon en medio de una alerta climática.
